Innovation Stragegy

This module equips ENVRIs with a structured framework to develop and implement an innovation strategy that aligns with scientific, societal, and economic objectives. By fostering collaboration within the innovation ecosystem, it enhances ENVRIs' competitiveness and sustainability. This Innovation Strategy module provides the foundation for doing so, outlining how ENVRIs can plan, implement, and assess innovation in alignment with their scientific missions, stakeholder needs, and long-term institutional goals.

This module is designed to help ENVRIs:

The module is organized into three interconnected phases, each comprising specific tools, templates, and methods that can be tailored to the unique context of each ENVRI:

  1. Strategy Development – Establishes the vision, priorities, and strategic focus areas for innovation. It ensures innovation activities are purpose-driven, aligned with institutional goals, and responsive to internal capabilities and external opportunities.
  2. Implementation – Translates strategy into action through selected innovation models (e.g., Agile, Stage-Gate), roadmaps, and resource planning. This phase focuses on execution, adaptability, and stakeholder engagement.
  3. Assessment – Enables continuous tracking of innovation progress and impact through KPIs, readiness levels, and portfolio analysis. It supports evidence-based decision-making and helps organizations adapt strategy as needed.
